1.Principles
1.1 In principle, it is not permissible to change any body structure permanently without a valid sharʿī reason to do so, as this conforms with Shaytān’s intention to mislead human beings. Allah said [referring to Shayṭān’s statement]:
…ولآمرنهم فليغيرن خلق الله
“..I shall order them to alter the creation of Allah” [Al-Nisā’ 119]
1.2 According to the interpretation of some scholars, this verse refers to any physical change on one’s body. [Tafsīr Ibn Átiyya, al-Muharrar]
1.3 In principle, it is permissible for a woman to beautify herself provided it does not cause fitnah. [Muhammad ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ʿAmr, al-Libās wa al-zīnah]
1.4 In principle, it is also permissible to have a surgical treatment if the treatment does not cause more harm than benefit to one’s life or body. [Muhammad ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ʿAmr, al-Libās wa al-zīnah]
2.Necessity and Dire Need
2.1 The sharīʿah recognises the fact that sometimes due to a necessity or need, the impermissible becomes permissible [al-Zarkashī, al-Manthūr fi al-qawāʿid al-fiqhiyyah].
2.2 For example, the use of gold, which is not [usually] permissible for men, may be permissible in certain cases. On one occasion, the Messenger permitted a Companion whose nose was cut off to make use of an artificial nose made of gold, this was on account of necessity. [Abu Dawud, Al-Sunan]
2.3 If the body is disfigured due to injury e.g., one had broken a leg or an arm, or it is deformed from birth, it is permissible to surgically reconstruct that part of the body.
3.Conclusion
3.1 It is not permissible to have surgical treatment exclusively for the sake of beauty.
3.2 However, it is permissible to have a Mastectomy and breast reconstruction thereafter, as the need exists to do so.
3.3 The Mastectomy and Breast reconstruction are not included in the connotation of the above verse in which Shayṭān promised to mislead people by changing the body structures permanently.

أخرج أبو داود في سننه، باب في ربط الأسنان بالذهب، قال: حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل ومحمد بن عبد اللهالخزاعي -المعنى- قالا: حدثنا أبو الأشهب، عن عبد الرحمن بن طرفة أن جده عرفجة بن أسعد قطع أنفه يوم الكلَاب فاتخذ أنف من ورق ، فأنتن عليه، فأمره النبي – صلى الله عليه وسلم – فاتخذ أنف من ذهب.
قال ابن حجر في فتح الباري عند شرح حديث المتنمصات نقلاً عن الطبري، ما نصه: “قال الطبري لا يجوز للمرأة تغيير شيء من خلقتها التي خلقها الله عليها بزيادة أو نقص التماس الحسن لا للزوج ولا لغيره كمن تكون مقرونة الحاجبين فتزي ل ما بينهما توهم البلج أو عكسه ومن تكون لها سن زائدة فتقلعه ا أو طويلة فتقطع منه أو لحية أو شار ب أو عنفقة فتزيله ا بالنت ف ومن يكون شعره ا قصيرا أو حقيرا فتطوله أو تغزره بشعر غيرها فكل ذلك داخل في النهي وهو من تغيير خلق الله تعالى قال ويستثنى من ذلك ما يحصل به الضرر والأذية كمن يكون لها سن زائدة أ و طويلة تعيقها في الأكل أ و إصبع زائدة تؤذيها أ و تؤلمه ا فيجو ز ذل ك والرج ل في هذا الأخير
