Shaykh Yusuf Philander graduated from Al-Azhar University in 2005 in Islamic Law and Contemporary Law. He has also studied under scholars such as al-Ḥabīb ‘Umar bin Ḥafīẓ, Shaykh ‘Ali Gomaa, and Shaykh Aḥmed Ṭaha Rayyan. He has sanad in the Qirā’ah of Abu Ja’far via the Durrah and the Qirā’ah ‘Āṣim via the Shāṭibiyyah.
